Since 1820, faithful Christians have been worshiping God on the grounds of Andrews Chapel. The chapel, built in 1849, is located nine miles west of downtown Jackson in Huntersville, TN. In 2013, due to declining membership, the future of this small rural Church became questionable. In a spirit of cooperation and innovation, Jackson First United Methodist Church partnered with the remaining membership of the Andrews Chapel church in order to enter a time of discernment for a new vision of continued usefulness and vitality in Christian ministry to the Huntersville community.
A steering team was formed at that time to look at a two-year plan for preservation of the historic facility as funds became available and to provide worship services and community outreach. On March 23, 2015 at the two-year point, the team met to determine the future of the Andrews Chapel.
