November’s selection will be The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michelle Richardson. It is a “lush love letter to the redemption power of books” detailing the events of Mary Cussy Carter and her journey on the Kentucky Pack Horse Library route.
Cussy is also one of the “blue people” of the hills and has been shunned most of her life because of her skin color. I was fascinated with this group of blue people that lived with a genetic disorder in the hills of Kentucky in the 1930s.
Join us at 11:00 a.m. at the Baker’s Rack for a dutch-treat lunch and a great book discussion!
