A commitment to giving is an important step on everyone’s faith journey. As Disciples of Christ, we approach the commitment of our financial resources as an opportunity to worship and serve Him. When we return a portion of our financial blessings to God through our giving, we create an opportunity for God to work through us and through our church.
FUMC is a diverse church, which is reflected in members’ giving patterns. Annual commitments range from under $100 to over $40,000. The average gift is $5,000. Each family will find the giving level that is right for them.
Automatic Bank Draft (ABD)

Gifts of stock
Giving commitments may be fulfilled by gifts of appreciated stock. Please contact the Finance Department at 731-422-4002 or email email@example.com for assistance with a stock gift.

To position the church for growth in membership and programs, FUMC has an ongoing improvement effort. Gifts to this effort may be sent to the church designated for Capital Improvements.
A gift to the church given in memory or honor of someone is an excellent way to remember a loved one, a friend, or to celebrate a special occasion. Gifts may be designated or undesignated. Undesignated gifts are used at the discretion of the Finance Committee to support ministries not provided for in the annual budget. Note to Recipient
Endowed Giving: FUMC Foundation
The FUMC Foundation, which was established in 1994, receives and administers endowed gifts to the church. The principal of these gifts remains intact with only the earnings being distributed at the direction of the Board of Directors and according to the donors’ instructions. The Foundation began with a gift of $50,000 and has grown to over $575,000.
Here are a few ways to support the work of the Foundation:

- Real Estate
- Charitable gift annuity
Wisely planned gifts can produce tax savings and estate protection. The Foundation will be glad to discuss gifts to the First United Methodist Church via the Foundation with you. These matters are treated confidentially.
